CLOCHE

Logline: A college girl attends her popular friend’s potluck party in hopes of being accepted by the social group, but her animated inner self joins to ruin the plan.

Director’s Statement

CLOCHE takes us on a journey inside the mind of Madelyn, a college girl who attempts to fit into a new social group at a potluck party. Exploring themes of identity and acceptance, the film conveys the struggle and desire of finding, losing, and returning to oneself. The film’s whimsical and comical manner blurs the fine line between fantasy and reality, and adds a little extra magic for viewers to interpret and resonate with the storyline. It’s a reminder that listening to and accepting your inner voice may be the key to living happily within yourself. The title, CLOCHE, was not only inspired by the silver plate cloche used in the production itself, but also by the idea of a confined environment that protects, yet restricts one’s physical identity.
